My name is Zeina Al-Salfiti, a 10-year-old girl from Gaza. When I was just a year and a half old, I contracted meningitis and lost my ability to hear. With the help of a cochlear implant, medical care, and rehabilitation, I was able to regain my hearing and live like any other child. I dreamed of becoming a dentist one day. I loved school, I loved to talk, and I loved to hear the voices of my parents and siblings.Before the war, my life was full of warmth, laughter, and dreams. My family of five lived peacefully in a beautiful home filled with love. But the war took everything from us.Our house was destroyed. We were displaced. I was separated from my father, and we now live in tents with no proper food, clean water, or clothing. In the chaos and horror of war, my cochlear implant was damaged, and I have lost my hearing once again. I have returned to silence.Today, I am pleading not just for myself, but for my family. We are trying to raise funds to travel to Germany, where I can receive a new cochlear implant and begin the journey of healing , physically and emotionally. More than anything, I want to hear again. I want to go back to school. I want to live, dream, and smile without fear.We are facing genocide, famine, and daily fear. But I still hold on to hope, hope that humanity will respond.Please, help me hear again.
